OPIA Theatre Collective and Pride Hamilton are  excited to bring theatre to the Pride festivities of 2018. On June 15, five brave and fearless theatre makers present their new work at QUEER on STAGE at @the Staircase Café Theatre. QUEER ON STAGE is proud to present theatre and storytelling that is created and performed by queer and trans artists.  It is a pay-what-you-can event, with all proceeds going to SAGE (Support Around Gender Experience) a peer facilitated group that provides support for trans, two spirit, gender fluid, non-binary youth here in Hamilton.

Most theatre is funded entirely through the hard work of the artists, and this showcase is no exception. Actors have agreed to work for free, and  the wonderful Colette Kendall at @the Staircase has given us a fantastic price for performance space, but the rent has to be paid. So we’re raising the roof and the funds, and helping our friends at Hamilton Pride at the same time, by bringing you a night of queer trivia and amazing prizes!

Bring your team or join one of ours and show off your knowledge of Queer History, Queer World, Queerly Special and Hammertown Queer, a category where you might find yourself a subject! Check out the fabulous prizes on the raffle table! Please share this event with friends from neighboring towns and lets build community while having fun. Let’s show the world what Hammer Pride is really all about! Winning team will split the 50/50 draw. Proceeds split 30% Hamilton Pride and 70% QUEER on STAGE. If you are interested in being a team captain please let us know.
